JAXA's Consolidated Space Tracking & Data Acquisition Department was established by consolidating two space networks: the network of ex-ISAS (The Institute of Space and Astronautical Science), which supports the missions of scientific satellites and deep space probes, and the network of ex-NASDA (National Space Development Agency of Japan), which tracks communication satellites, positioning satellites and earth observation satellites. The main mission of the department is to receive satellite data to monitor the status of the spacecraft, to transmit commands to the spacecraft, and to predict and determine the orbit of the spacecraft. In order to perform these tasks, we have built the network of ground stations across the country and overseas and provided safe and secure operation.
